Pet Hamster 

 

I am a father with two sons in grade school(=elementary school).

My eldest son started begging me for a pet hamster last month.

So last week, we finally adopted one to raise at home.

I hadn't realized how many things we needed to buy.

We had to get all sorts of stuff★, including a food dish, wood shavings(톱밥), a running wheel, a litter box(화장실), a playground, and a hiding place.

We shopped around, buying everything we needed, and set up a home for our new pet.

One morning at work, I got a message from my wife.

She told me that before heading to school, our younger son gave the hamster a grave(=serious) warning: "When you are home alone, don't open the door for anyone. But if someone with a lot of facial hair comes, you can open it. That's my dad."

It was so funny that I couldn't stop laughing.
