I am a woman in my mid-50s with a daughter in her third year of middle school. 

We have traveled abroad together every year since she was six.

However, most of the vivid memories she has about our trips are the times when we got lost.

In Hong Kong, we couldn't find our hotel even though it was just around the corner, so we had to ask several people for directions.

In Quebec, Canada, we had a hard time when the sun went down while looking for a filming location from the drama "Goblin."

It's true.

I have no sense of direction★.

Even with a navigation app on my phone, there are still many times when I have no idea where to go.

Even now, when I drive to unfamiliar places, I can never find my way on the first try.★

1. Why are some people better at interpreting maps and finding routes?

I think some people have especially the ability of sense of direction. I also have no sense of direction, but I'm trying to find routes using GPS.

It's not difficult to get travel information like transportation, restaurants, and hotels anymore, so I have many chances to travel abroad.
